Y’all. Nobody tells you how hard it’s going to be to find outfits for all things bride-to-be!
Maybe it’s just me, but once I got engaged, I was so excited to start shopping for all the cute white dresses I was going to be able to wear. I mean, when else in your life are you able to wear all white? Not very many appropriate occasions. I was fully prepared to take full advantage and stock up on so many options.
I shopped everywhere and was constantly scouring the internet for new styles, almost obsessively. The process was not as fun as I had hoped; I bought so many, and returned so many. A lot of the dresses looked great online, but ultimately they fit my body weird, didn’t cover the booty enough, the lace looked different in person, etc. Price point was also important to me; I want to spend a little, but not a lot for something I was going to wear once, realistically.
It was a little frustrating, I won’t lie, but truthfully, you don’t have THAT many events as a bride, so you only need a few options that you really love (says the woman with about 15 white dresses in her closest now that she’ll never wear).
My point being, be prepared to buy, try on, and return. Patience is key!
