There is something about ruffles on clothes that makes me feel like I’m 8 years old all over again, but at the same time, feeling super fresh for spring! Ruffles are a fun detail that have EXPLODED this year… on everything– tops, skirts, handbags…
I stumbled across this Zara top when I was in NYC a month ago and although I didn’t NEED it, I needed it… you know what I mean?
Happy Monday, friends!! How was your weekend? Are you ready for the week ahead? I hope so!
My weekend was awesome- equal parts relaxation, adventure and fun (and hustle). Rob and I watched the two Syracuse basketball games (holy shit they were epic games, and I don’t even like sports! #converted), had a little day adventure down to Newport Beach on Saturday where we grabbed a late lunch (Bear Flag Fish Co– SO GOOD!) watched the sunset and had some drinks, and topped off the night cuddled on the couch with House of Cards.
Then Sunday started with a little coffee date with my friend Ashley in Brentwood, then took a nice walk with Rob through our neighborhood. It was so nice to just get OUT and walk around. We didn’t have a time schedule, or any rush to get home, so we just enjoyed each other and actually took the time to soak in the Spring beauty around us. The flowers in LA are popping out in full force… I love it (but my allergies don’t)!
I’ve got a thing for little black dresses. I’m pretty sure my closet is filled with a zillion different versions- plain, midi length, mini, maxi, etc. An LBD (or a few of them) are a staple that I think every girl should have. Such an easy “throw on an go” outfit that leaves you looking fab!
I found this amazing sequin skirt at our bebe sample sale a while back and thought to myself, “Am I ever going to actually wear this?”. I don’t get dressed up to go out that often these days and you’ll rarely find me at a club on the weekends. But I bought it anyways…
Finding a way to make this is work appropriate was actually easier than I thought- just add a plain t-shirt, some heels and DONE!
I’m usually not one to show very much skin. You’ll rarely find me wearing anything with a plunging neckline, or open back. If anything, I’ll rock a mini skirt and show some leg instead! I don’t know why really, I guess it’s just never been my jam. Conservative in that sense, I suppose.
