Statement necklaces can be worn casual or dressy, depending on how you style them. That’s one of my favorite things about jewelry; one little tweak can change the whole mood of an outfit.
Sometimes at the bebe office, we get bored and start messing with the sparkly things- more often than not, they’re piled in various areas of my desk (Eeek!) We actually stole this idea from our in-house stylist, who did something similar on a photo of Rita Ora. She adorned her with our headband and some earrings- totally bebe-fied!
I’m sure you’ve seen Shourouk, and even if you think you haven’t, believe me…you have. This designer has been THE trend happening in jewelry for at least a year. Shourouk established her company in 2007, and since then, she’s exploded into the market. She’s literally everywhere.
And everyone, unfortunately, has made versions of her work. These styles are everywhere in the market now- from department stores, to online companies and retailers nationwide. The real Shourouk pieces are very expensive and insanely gorgeous.

As a jewelry buyer for bebe, I am constantly on the lookout for the newest trends, designers and developing new product. Jewelry is constantly changing and evolving and there are so many different directions you can take your style, that the possibilities and choices are endless.
I love seeing what my favorite designers come out with for the new seasons and seeing retailers take’s on fast approaching trends. I also love seeing how customers react and what they gravitate towards (and what they don’t…). I find it all very fascinating.
Dannijo has been a favorite designer of mine for a while now. Their collections are always incredible, colorful and vastly unique. The sisters who own and operate the company are pretty amazing as well. According to their website, the two of them started making jewelry after college (a childhood hobby of theirs). Dannijo is dedicated to “creating sustainable economic opportunity for women in underdeveloped areas of the world. All DANNIJO.com packaging is handmade in Rwanda as part of their women’s empowerment initiative.”
The sisters also serve on the AOL Small Business Board of Directors and have been featured in Inc Magazines 30 under 30: America’s Coolest Entrepreneurs List. The Dannijo client list includes Rhianna, Oprah, Beyonce, Blake Lively and more. You can shop their product on their website, Dannijo.com, or they can be found at many amazing retailers, including Shopbop.com and Harvey Nichols.
