Every now and then I like to switch up my skincare routine. I like trying new products and testing things, I think it’s fun! Plus, while we’re staying safe and sound at home, it seemed like the perfect time to experiment. Because, if my skin freaks out, nobody will see it except for Bryan (and he doesn’t care).
Ulta was running their 21 days of beauty sale, so I picked up a few items during then, but The Ordinary products I got weren’t on sale, but are always super inexpensive, which I love. They have such a good line, and tons of products, so the price point makes it super affordable to try and test things without feeling like you’re breaking the bank. Not going to lie, when I spend a ton of money at Sephora, it physically hurts. Am I alone in that? I hope not.
So here is what I’m using lately:
The Ordinary Squalane wash– a gentle cleansing product formulated to target makeup removal whilst leaving the skin feeling smooth and moisturized. The formula incorporates Squalane, alongside other lipophilic esters that are gentle and moisturizing. They are also efficient in dissolving makeup and facial impurities and increasing the spreadability of the product
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid– improves appearance of skin texture, radiance & visible clarity.
Tula 24-7 Moisture-a creamy, whipped moisturizer that delivers deep hydration to help revive dull, tired skin. Full of naturally derived probiotics + superfoods, this non-toxic cream reveals an even, glowing and youthful-looking complexion. It’s is formulated to be both light enough to wear under makeup during the day, and hydrating enough for nighttime.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid– Exfoliates the skin and improves skin radiance.
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid– antioxidant that brightens skin tone while visibly improving the evenness of skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes.
The Ordinary Niacinamide– reduces the appearance of enlarged pores & congestion and also balances the overproduction of oil.
OLEHENRIKSEN Invigorating Night Transformation serum– an age-fighting night serum with potent AHAs to smooth skin texture, even tone, and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles while you sleep.
And that’s it!
It’s been almost two weeks of using these products all religiously, and I have to say, I’m impressed! I deal with rosacea and it’s a really nasty thing to combat daily. This little skin care lineup I’ve put together is really helping keep things under control. I’ve noticed that the bumps on my cheeks have significantly reduced, my face isn’t as red- wins all around!
I will say though, I still need to use additional moisturizer, in addition to the Tula. My skin is super dry, especially on my cheeks, so I need to double up. I typically use a serum, and then add the Tula moisturizer for some extra TLC.
Hope you found this helpful, or maybe just interesting? Either way, thank you for reading and stopping by! I hope you’re staying safe and healthy during this crazy time. Fingers crossed this only lasts through the end of the month.
And if you’re looking for more skincare items, here is a blog post I did around the holidays that has some amazing products you can try!
