One of my favorite trends right now is LEOPARD! Did you see how it just popped back up overnight? It’s like we woke up one day and all of a sudden, everything was leopard again. I for one am obsessed. Leopard or cheetah print to me is one of those tried and true fashion trends that never really left us, but it’s definitely back full force right now.
When I was younger, I think like 15 or 16, my absolutely favorite pair of shoes were these satin leopard wedges from Guess. They were peep toe, had a bow on top, and were the fucking CUTEST. I was literally obsessed with them for YEARS (still am…) but had to stop wearing them once the fabric started rubbing off on the back. Don’t you hate when that happens? I tried for years to find a replacement and had no luck. Nothing was as cute or as comfortable as those shoes. Ugh.
I loved them so much that I actually never got rid of them. I couldn’t wear them anymore but couldn’t bring myself to toss them. They are still at my parents house to this day, and my nieces wear them when they’re playing dress up. It’s pretty special to see them have gone full circle. Maybe one day I’ll have a daughter to wear them…
POINT IS, leopard is everywhere and it’s the shit. If you don’t have some leopard print in your closet, you better get to shoppin!
I’m not big into designer things, mainly because I can’t afford them but that’s beside the point… ha! I’ve always had the mindset about designer clothes and shoes that if I DID buy them, I’d be too worried about ruining them to actually USE them. You know what I mean? How shitty would it be to be wearing a nice pair of Louboutin shoes and they get spilled on or scuffed? I’d be SO sad to have spent a bunch of money and then have it be ruined.
BUT over the years, the one designer splurge that I think it’s reasonable to invest into is a good handbag. A good bag can last you YEARS if you take care of it right. And on the flip side, a cheap bag can last only a few months- the handles start to tear, the fabric can start to chip or whatever- it’s happened to all of us, right?
You know what I love? When trends you once loved come back around and are cool again. I mean, it’s kind of true that everything old becomes new again, isn’t it? Just look around at what every retailer is carrying right now- it’s like we traveled back in time to the 90’s. Kind of awesome if you ask me!
One of my favorite trends for this spring is a denim mini skirt (bonus points if it’s distressed). I don’t know about you, but I had a couple denim skirts back when I was in middle school and high school that I loved. A denim skirt is such an easy piece to have in your closet.
For this outfit, I paired my skirt with a bright blue sweater because it was COLD. But in the summer, this skirt will be perfect with a white t-shirt or a tank top. Also…anything I can wear sneakers with is a win for me!
Oh heyyyyy friends! Besides my face mask post from yesterday, it’s been a WHILE since I’ve put some work in on Worship Worthy. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know the last two months have been…. challenging. And sad. Very sad. I lost my Grandmothers in January and February, and it’s been hard to get back into the swing of things. Isn’t it crazy how life just continues on after life tragedy? I’ve been trying to give myself time to grieve, and be sad, but I also know that I need to keep moving forward. And ultimately I know that’s what my Grandmothers would want me to do.
So here we are, end of February and I’m FINALLY working on content for you all! I’ve been shooting with Justin, working on new ideas for the Worship Worthy shop, and have a bunch of blog post ideas for you!
