We’re starting to get Leo’s nursery set up and it’s feeling very surreal! Still got a long way to go, but I thought I would share what we have bought thus far. We decided to go for a jungle theme because truthfully, I figure I am only going to be able to decorate his room like this once in his life. Once he gets older, I’m guessing he’s going to have some strong opinions on the theme we go with next. (We’re both hoping for baseball, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.)
Crib- This is on the way to us, so I can’t say anything about the quality just yet, but it’s got great reviews and I like that it looks a little more modern than some of the other cribs we looked at.
Murphy Bed- I was most excited about this. The room is small and will also need to double as a guest room. We wanted to make sure that my family has a comfortable place to stay when they come to visit, but knowing that 90% of the time, it will be used as a nursery. The quality of this is amazing! We were so happy. It shipped basically put together, which was great, and the Queen size mattress that it comes with is super comfortable.
Dresser- Love the quality of this one and the size! One thing we aren’t loving is how the drawers open. The tracks only allow you to open the drawers like half way, which is a bit annoying. Bryan is looking into finding a way to fix it, but something to note.
Rocking Chair- I’m obsessed with this teddy bear fabric so I knew I wanted to have this in the nursery. I wanted something comfy and cozy for late night feedings with Leo.
Wallpaper Mural- We’re doing this on the wall directly behind the crib. I think it’s going to be really cute!! It’s a peel off wallpaper, so I’m crossing my fingers it’s easy enough to put up and take down (when we need to).
Elephant Bookcase– I fell in love with this for the animal theme, from Pottery Barn, but I refuse to pay $500.00 for it. I did some digging and wasn’t finding anything similar for cheaper. However, I did stumble onto Etsy and found the woodworking plans for $8.00. Bryan and his brother are going to build it, and I really love that Leo will have something handmade by his Dad and Uncle in his room. So sweet!
Will post more when everything is all set up!
